HOW TO RECYCLE BEAUTY PRODUCTS WITH NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP
When TerraCycle® started recycling boxes, it allowed the recycling of cosmetic packaging that was previously considered non-recyclable.
Today, 80% of beauty products can be recycled via traditional recycling channels, and 20% cannot.
TerraCycle® solves this problem by offering a recycling solution for hard-to-recycle cosmetic containers.
To determine which bin you should use for your cosmetic packaging, read the sorting instructions on the back of the products.
TerraCycle® recycling boxes are located in selected stores belonging to our partners across Canada.

WHAT TYPE OF COSMETICS IS ACCEPTED FOR RECYCLING?
Bring & recycle any brand of used liners, foundation in tubes, palettes, mascaras, gloss, and lipstick!
Please note that we do not accept rigid plastic bottles, glass vials and cardboard
packaging that can be recycled using traditional recycling channels.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE COSMETIC CONTAINERS THAT ARE COLLECTED?
Beauty products are collected and sent as parcels to TerraCycle® warehouses, where they are weighed and sorted based on their material.
Once the waste is sorted by category, it is transformed into usable secondary raw materials.
Recycling cosmetic containers into secondary materials allows companies to produce finished products using recycled waste.
FAQS
What beauty products can I recycle via this recycling program?
Makeup product packaging, plastic jars, sticks and spray bottles, soft plastic packaging, plastic tubes, cosmetic wipes, or eco-friendly refills.
Should I clean my containers before sending it?
No. You do not need to clean your beauty products, but please be sure to remove as much remaining product or liquid as possible before sending it.
Public collection points will not accept wet packages. So make sure that your items are dry.
Should I only return NYX Professional Makeup beauty products?
No. The free TerraCycle® recycling program accepts all types of cosmetic containers that are not recycled near you, no matter the brand.
